Charging and battery

BMW's sixth-generation eDrive system uses cylindrical battery cells and an 800V electrical architecture. The 50 xDrive has a 108.7 kWh usable battery and supports DC charging at up to 400 kW under suitable conditions. BMW quotes up to 387 km of additional WLTP range in ten minutes for this version. The 40 xDrive supports up to 300 kW DC charging.

Europe vs United States and Canada: different official figures

BMW publishes market-specific figures. The European iX4 50 xDrive has a 108.7 kWh usable battery and provisional up to 828 km WLTP range. The US and Canadian announcements specify a 112.2 kWh usable battery; the US estimates up to 428 miles, while Canada estimates up to 680 km. These are different market configurations and test methodologies, not directly comparable range results. Do not apply the European WLTP rating to North American vehicles.

In the United States, BMW lists the iX4 50 xDrive from $66,200 before destination and handling. US model output is quoted as 463 hp; the US iX4 M60 xDrive is rated at 603 hp, compared with 612 metric hp (450 kW) in BMW’s European figures. Local availability and specifications may vary.
