Why we built it
Automakers introduce new acronyms, driver-assistance features, battery systems and model names faster than most buyers can keep up. Our goal is to explain what these terms actually mean, where they matter and what questions a buyer should ask.
We cover evergreen terminology as well as emerging automotive technology, vehicle reviews and meaningful comparisons. Our audience is international, with particular attention to Chinese manufacturers entering more markets.
Our research and verification methodology
- Start with original sources. We prioritize manufacturer technical documentation, official specifications, standards and regulator publications.
- Separate markets and versions. Vehicle year, trim, country and range-testing standard can materially change a specification. We identify these differences instead of combining incompatible figures.
- Explain rather than repeat marketing. We distinguish what a system does from the name used to advertise it; driver assistance, for example, is not automatically autonomous driving.
- Label uncertainty. Rumored prices, projected ranges, prototypes and announced future plans are clearly identified as unconfirmed unless reliable sources verify them.
- Review and correct. We include references, make substantive revisions as new facts emerge and acknowledge that specifications can change.
What readers can expect
Clear definitions, practical examples, advantages, limitations and related terms. Comparisons should help readers decide rather than impose a universal winner. We do not claim hands-on testing unless an article explicitly documents it.
Editorial responsibility
Content is published under the CarGlossary Editor attribution, identifying the editorial responsibility for the site rather than implying a fictional author or testing facility.
We plan to share more about the person behind the project later, potentially including a privacy-conscious photograph. No portrait is published here yet.
Corrections and contact
If you spot an incorrect specification, missing source or important market variation, contact editor@carglossary.com with the article URL and supporting reference. We review substantive corrections and update the relevant page when warranted.
Commercial independence
Reader usefulness and factual accuracy come first. Any future sponsorships, affiliate links or paid placements should be clearly identified, and commercial relationships should not determine our technical explanations or factual conclusions.
