Volkswagen states a maximum range of up to 600 km WLTP depending on version. This is not an EPA estimate or a guarantee for every trim. Maximum braked towing capacity reaches 2,000 kg on specified versions; check individual market homologation before using that figure for a purchase decision.

What is new compared with ID.4 and ID.5?

Volkswagen has redesigned the exterior and interior, adding a new display layout with an optional front-passenger screen, available massaging and ventilated seats, a front luggage compartment and a more conventional control experience. One-pedal driving and optional Connected Travel Assist with traffic-light recognition are announced features. Driver assistance does not make the vehicle autonomous.

Does the electric ID. Tiguan replace the petrol Tiguan?

No. The ID. Tiguan succeeds Volkswagen's electric ID.4 and ID.5; petrol, diesel and hybrid versions of the regular Tiguan continue alongside it. Despite sharing a name, the two are different vehicles with different propulsion systems.

When does the ID. Tiguan go on sale?

Europe: Volkswagen targets the beginning of 2027 for the new electric SUV. Volkswagen UK also states an early-2027 arrival. Market-specific orders, prices and equipment may differ.

United States and Canada: The October 9 global reveal provides European technical data. North American launch timing, EPA range, charging configuration and final prices should not be inferred from WLTP figures. Volkswagen's regional announcements should be checked before assuming identical specifications.

Australia and GCC: Local release dates, homologated range and pricing are not confirmed by the cited global release.

Is the quoted 600 km range realistic?

600 km is a WLTP laboratory-cycle maximum for a qualifying version. Highway speed, ambient temperature, wheel selection, payload and heating or air-conditioning affect real-world range. Do not compare this number directly with US EPA-rated ranges without acknowledging different test procedures.
