First appearance in Saudi Arabia

Aljomaih Automotive introduced the XT80 to the Saudi public during the Saudi International Falcons & Hunting Exhibition 2026, held from October 1–10 at the Riyadh Exhibition & Convention Center in Malham. The choice of venue is deliberate: the event attracts drivers interested in desert travel, hunting, camping and outdoor equipment.

CarGlossary photographed the XT80 at the show on October 4. You can also see our broader SFC 2026 car and 4x4 coverage, which includes the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ, INEOS Grenadier variants, GMC Hummer EV and specialist off-road equipment.

Plug-in hybrid power and performance

The Saudi XT80 announcement describes a plug-in hybrid system with a total output of 550 kW, equivalent to roughly 748 hp, and 990 Nm of torque. The announced 0–100 km/h time is 4.4 seconds.

That combination is important for the XT80's positioning. It is not being marketed simply as a large family SUV; GAC is presenting it as its first serious off-road vehicle for international markets, with performance intended to support sand, trails and long-distance adventure driving as well as normal road use.

Range, charging and camping use

For the Saudi reveal, the combined petrol-and-electric driving range is stated at more than 1,000 km. GAC has not yet published a complete Saudi homologation sheet showing the local test cycle, battery capacity or Saudi-market pure-electric range, so we are not substituting China-market numbers for those missing Saudi figures.

The vehicle is also announced with fast charging and up to 6 kW of external power output. That vehicle-to-load style capability is especially relevant for camping because it can power compatible external equipment from the vehicle.

What makes the XT80 an off-road SUV?

The Saudi specification highlights four-wheel drive, electronically controlled air suspension and what the launch material describes as a three-lock system: a front differential lock, rear differential lock and central energy lock. GAC also states a maximum water-wading depth of 700 mm under the applicable operating conditions.

These are meaningful off-road features rather than cosmetic adventure styling. Locking the front and rear differentials can help maintain drive when wheel traction becomes uneven, while adjustable air suspension can increase clearance or alter ride height depending on the terrain.

Five seats and 905 litres of cargo space

The Saudi reveal describes the XT80 as a five-seat SUV and lists 905 litres of luggage capacity. That combination fits the car's intended use: a large cargo area for camping equipment without moving to a three-row seating layout.

Why might the XT80 get a Saudi name?

One unusual part of the Saudi launch is that visitors are being invited to suggest a locally inspired name for the vehicle. Aljomaih said the selected name will be announced before the official Saudi launch. Until that happens, XT80 remains the correct model identifier to search for and follow.

Is the GAC XT80 the same as the China-market Yue 7?

International automotive coverage identifies the global XT80 as the export version of the China-market GAC Trumpchi Yue 7. However, published China-market specifications do not line up perfectly with the figures announced for the Saudi reveal. For that reason, this page treats Saudi information as its own specification set and does not assume every Yue 7 trim, battery or performance figure will carry over to the Kingdom.
